UNESCO Global Staff Survey
Results of the UNESCO Global staff survey being reviewed by inter-sectoral working group co-ordinated by UNESCO HR.
Dear STU members,
We are pleased to inform you of our participation in the working
group on the review of the Global Staff Survey results. See the survey results here.
You will have seen the UNESCO invitation to two events
called Hackathons taking place on Wednesday, 27 October 2021 and
Thursday, 4 November 2021.
These brainstorming sessions were a way for all staff to provide
insight, ideas and proposals for the four main areas selected which
have been chosen due to the overall low scores in the global staff
survey i.e.
1) Innovation and Creative thinking (Values and Culture):
40% of staff feel UNESCO’s culture and ways of working encourage
innovative and creative ways of thinking.
2) Well-being:
44% feel UNESCO helps employees achieve good work life balance
and 57% feel workload is manageable.
3) Respectful and equal treatment:
54% are positive about people being treated equally irrespective
of their nationality, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation
or religion.
4) Induction learning /training:
41% hold a positive view of their induction training. It seems that even recent ICTP/TWAS staff have not
received any induction training to UNESCO when hired.
If you have any ideas or proposals to share with us on these or other items of the survey, please write to us at stu@ictp.it
